ERS HERMES examination in paediatric respiratory medicine-Taiwan 2020

Following on from the successful examinations in Beijing in 2018, the Asian Paediatric Pulmonology Society (APPS) will deliver the ERS HERMES examination in paediatric respiratory medicine in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on Friday 25 September, 2020. Participants can register for the European diploma and upon successful completion, will receive a diploma in paediatric respiratory medicine and join our established group of ERS HERMES diplomates.

Why should I take this exam?

These examinations offer you the chance to test your knowledge and gain international recognition in paediatric respiratory medicine at a European standard.

Are there any options?

There are three options to choose from when registering: the European Diploma examination (aimed at respiratory specialists/final-year trainees in respiratory medicine); the In-training examination (aimed at trainees in respiratory medicine); and the Self-assessment examination (aimed at respiratory specialists/non-specialists with MD). How do I register?

You can register or find out more information about fees, by emailing APPS directly. Registration is now open and will close on 21 August, 2020. IMPOTRANT NOTE: applicants can only take one paediatric HERMES exam in 2020, either at the ERS International Congress, Vienna on 5 September or with APPS on 25 September in Taiwan.

Examination preparation day

Examination format

The examination has the same format as the examination delivered during the annual ERS International Congress. The 3-hour-long written examination is composed of 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in English. The MCQs are selected from the [examination blueprint], and are designed around the consensus-based European syllabus in respiratory medicine, published in Breathe.
